I was sitting in an E9 slot when I retired. My unit wouldn&#39;t send me to SLC because I wasn&#39;t 2% or more under body fat limit (I was in standard, just not 2% under). Be sure to develop yourself so you are ready when you do get promoted. There is nothing wrong with moving forward with your SSD beyond what is expected of you, and for seeking out opportunities for professional development within your current unit.
