If I pursue a masters degree through the G2G program, do I have to choose a school where I am currently stationed?

I am an AD soldier, 68c (LPN). I have BSN from the philippines and an active RN license from HI. Army dont recognize my BSN so I cant commission. Im thinking of doing the army g2g AD program so i can be an officer. Do i build my packet first or get accepted in a university? Do I have to choose a school here in GA? Can I direct commission with any masters program if ever g2g wont work for me? Thank you.

Green to gold is a transition. No, you should not be limited to your current area. Where you are accepted should drive the location decision, not your current assignment. Once you transition to green to gold, you are separated from your current assignment so no.

I know that when I did G2G, part of my packet was an acceptance letter from the university of my choice and within that program I had to have a letter of acceptance from the University ROTC Professor of Military Science (PMS). HRC would not assess my packet until I showed an acceptance letter from the university. I applied to four schools and was accepted to each; I narrowed it down to the school of my choice and contacted the PMS - he reviewed my packet and approved me attending ROTC through them. This was ADO. The only stipulation I was told was that the school I selected had to have an ROTC program (host school or satellite). The Army then PCS’d me to that school and attached me to Fort Jackson for personnel records.

My degree was a Bachelors (two Bacelors) but from talking to HRC - Masters degrees place you above other applicants (granted your other records are descent) at the board. Then to add to that Nursing students are in demand in ROTC so that is a bonus on your packet. Good luck.

Call [login to see] , ask for the USPHS recruiters who handle nursing, look at the USPHS Jr and Sr COSTEP, their analogue to ROTCs, that can also be used for grad school, whether they take your degree I can't help you with, however, if you'd be willing to go psych RN or NP, USPHS has an an agreement with the other services to use USPHS psych-related clinicals for 3-yr tours, call them and ask, OK? They're very flexible, assigned to NIH, FDA, CDC, AHRQ, Indian Health Svc (IHS), Bureau of Prisons (BoP), I trained doing my clinical allied-health doctorate while in externships before my total perm disability under a USPHS O-6, I'd really wanted to go with them, I was never able, trust me, call them, OK?

You'd have to do a couple of tours to have a chance for this to do your DNP, I think that's what they have for doctoral level nursing, they also have bioscience PhD programs, look at their site, you'd find it of interest, OK?

And look at the interservice PA program at Ft. Sam Houston, whether they'd take you or not, haven't a clue, however, it'd be crazy for you to not look...there's also an enlisted program for those enlisted who want medicine, I've seen references on it, as well, look also at osteopathic, D.O., as opposed to just M.D., and also dental, esp. for oral surgery, particularly orthognathic surgery, which has lead-ins to M.D. and D.O. with credit for dental training...also look up certified first assist (CFA), which I gather is linkable to RN-FA, letting you close surgical sites, if a surgeon leaves a room, it'd be quite of interest to you, I think, esp. if you combine it with going for an MSN, as well as an NP....

They were part of NY state govt, then privatized, I got a 2nd bach in math from them, a friend got a bach in math, then went Navy OCS using it, call their toll free and chat with their RN advisors, they're well known to the svcs, promise....
