If I re-enlist as prior service, can I retake the ASVAB or will I be restricted to my old MOS?

I'm looking to reenlist in the army as prior service and was wondering if I can retake the ASVAB? I'm also curious if I'll be restricted to my old MOS (11B).

How long have you been out? I was just talking to a Paratrooper with the 82nd on Friday and he told me he got article 15'ed for rolling his eyes during a tranny brief. May not be what you remember

You may not have a choice. When I came back in I was a trained Mortar Section Sergeant. The only thing I required was maintaining SGT... Of the three Moss's they offered me, 11C want one of them.

It depends on the need of the army and you can take the ASVAB again

I just enlisted in the NG after a 10 year break in service from AD. It will depend. If you ASVAB is over 10 years old, you have to re-take the ASVAB. Recruiter will want you to take the old MOS because it is easier and less paperwork. You can ask to retake the ASVAB and go for a new MOS.
