SGT Private RallyPoint Member 8954779

It's been a while since I was in the Army. While I was in I had a clearance, and I have been told that joining (again) would be the fastest way to re-obtain that clearance. However I would want to re-join with the MOS I had while I served. How much say would I have in picking that MOS, and would I need to go through AIT and all that again 15+ years after separating? If I was to rejoin the Army, could I pick my MOS? 2025-03-03T12:30:39-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 8954779

It's been a while since I was in the Army. That MOS is probably not the same as it was 15+ years ago with technology advances. That said, if you were able to qualify back then, most likely you can qualify now. Good Luck to you, that clearance is a golden ticket for sure. Possible.

You'd be Prior Service Rules. Which means you're processed last. However, if the MOS is open when you speak with the CCs at MEPS, then boom there ya go.

You may have to attend AIT again IOT get caught up to speed for the MOS.

You may very well have to attend Basic again, as well.

Your first step is to talk to a Recruiter Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 3 at 2025 2:46 PM 2025-03-03T14:46:24-05:00 2025-03-03T14:46:24-05:00 SSgt Christophe Murphy 8957374

The only people who can answer your questions accurately and with current information would be the fine folks in your local recruiting office.
