In my State you can open carry without a permit and concealed carry with a permit. I tend to think being in uniform in this day and age makes ones susceptible, think SAEDAResponse by SPC James Harsh made Jul 2 at 2016 5:20 PM2016-07-02T17:20:28-04:002016-07-02T17:20:28-04:00PO1 John Miller1683538<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><br />Hypothetically, you're a veteran right? Yes I know AR 670-1 has rules about vets wearing their old service uniforms. But honestly if you're wearing it correctly, nobody is going to say anything to you. And as long has you're legally carrying (either open or concealed), again nobody is going to say anything.Response by PO1 John Miller made Jul 2 at 2016 5:23 PM2016-07-02T17:23:53-04:002016-07-02T17:23:53-04:00SFC Everett Oliver1685234<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Was in a parade yesterday, Actually I drove in a parade, right behind the American Legion color guard and members. I was in the same uniform they were. I know these guys, I can bet 3 guys in front of me were carrying concealed as was I. If you are authorized to wear your uniform off base then follow the local laws. On base is a whole new story....Response by SFC Everett Oliver made Jul 3 at 2016 1:30 PM2016-07-03T13:30:55-04:002016-07-03T13:30:55-04:001SG Private RallyPoint Member1685455<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Why do you want / need to carry a weapon in this situation?Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 3 at 2016 3:05 PM2016-07-03T15:05:48-04:002016-07-03T15:05:48-04:00SFC Jim Ruether1689361<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Remember SPC Harsh if they don't know you are carrying are you really carrying? If your weapon is properly secured and not showing I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. If you are the color bearer where a dress holster and your M-9. Problem solved brother!Response by SFC Jim Ruether made Jul 5 at 2016 11:17 AM2016-07-05T11:17:30-04:002016-07-05T11:17:30-04:00CW5 Jack Cardwell2988148<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Also depends where you live. In some states you cannot carry open or concealed to events such as parades.Response by CW5 Jack Cardwell made Oct 10 at 2017 6:32 PM2017-10-10T18:32:48-04:002017-10-10T18:32:48-04:002016-07-02T17:18:35-04:00
