There's much bigger things in play right now than being preoccupied with the Turkey border. It would be nice if NATO and the UN would stay playing around and actually get some decent work done. Turkey is simply watching the battle from their side of the border. They are letting Isis take care of the Kurd problem, so as longs as Isis stays off Turkish soil, I believe Turkey would be happy to watch them eliminate the Kurds. Turkey has its own very serious internal political rifts. That whole area is a cauldron of mixed signals and dubious friendships. IS knows that Turkey will be happy to stand by and watch the Kurds bleed. To force the Turks' hand is lunacy.

Strategically, only the Arabs can stop ISIS. Why? Because for centuries, many muslim clerics have been praying for the stated purpose of the IS - a new Caliphate and the ejection of non-Muslims from the middle east. No one in the Arab world would be concerned about stopping IS if the Saud family and their allies didn't feel threatened.
