Two weeks later he went back to swear in and was asked if anything had change since his last visit. My son answered yes he had a doctors appt. MEPS requested all the medical records for the appointment which were provided to MEPS. The doctor diagnosed my son with Chronic Sinusitis and now he is disqualified from joining the CG. What can he do to be qualified to join? Should he have surgery and after 2 years will he be able to enlist? Very disappointing current outcome. Thank you for your time If my son has surgery for chronic sinusitis and after 2 years will he be able to enlist to USCG? 2021-03-27T17:27:42-04:00 Barbara Peraza 6858511

Add bookmark
#1
My son passed MEPS no issues. That's the first place to start and who would have the most accurate information. Two times my Maxillary Sinuses contained Polyps that would become inflamed. Removal of those sensitive polyps improved my life! Generally, if a surgery corrects an issue and it is later evaluated to have corrected the problem one will be clear to join. The rejection is about having a pre-existing condition that the military should not be accountable for. Have him check with the recruiter. He may also need a waiver since one doc diagnosed and another doc cleared. If he gets the surgery, he will need to wait at least 24 months before trying again.
