If my wife and I are in the MACP, and she was DA-selected for drill sergeant. Will I move to where she has her drill duty?

My wife and I are both active duty with the same mos and soon the same rank. She was just DA selected for drill sergeant, my question is since we are enrolled in MACP will I move with her to where her drill sergeant duty is?

SFC Private RallyPoint Member from what I understand they will try to get you both assigned somewhat in the same geographical area. I would do a 3 way call and ask questions.

If you are already eligible for PCS
If the proposed gaining unit has a open position for you, or a estimated one based on a documented known loss
Your branch may CONSIDER your participation in the a MACP for your next assignment.

HRC is doing their "best" to keep families together so you should be all right. That's what they told us the other day in a briefing at ALU Ft. Lee.

To give a little more background to our situation:
I reenlisted for 2 years stabalization then 2 years needs of the army (my stabilization ends this may) and she has 3 years left in March before her ETS date. We both intend in ETS as well.

When I was a DS at Benning, anyone we had threat was enrolled in MACP HRC would find a unit somewhere on post for the spouse as well.

I'm not sure what the exact regulations are pertaining to this. But, I remember something about, stationed on the same installation, or up to, or within 50 miles

Big questions- is your MOS at her assignment? Big thing they promise to make all attempts to keep you together, but it is NOT locked into concrete.

There is no garauntee of a joint assignment. Your MOS has to have an opening at that base. Why did you not submit for drill duty when she did. You could request drill. Ow as an option, making your odds better. Thank you for your service.

Who knows, they have to TRY to keep you together. Are the other units on that post with your MOS that do not call for DI status? Need to check ASAP.
