The army either provides housing or pays you BAH. You don't get both just because you choose to live in separate locations. Not sure how this didn't come up before you enlisted and left though.

Army Regulation 608-99 (Family Support, Child Custody and Paternity) sets the Army’s policy on responsibilities and procedures for financial support. IF you elect to take BAH, then when you arrive at your new duty station, whether accompanied or not, you will not be staying in the barracks. You will be required to have a place. That means that yeah, you will maintain two places, where your wife is and where you are.

Or, you can elect to not get BAH, in which case you can stay in the barracks but your wife gets no support from the government other than what you send by way of your paycheck.

Or, you tell her to grow up and she cannot stay with mommy and daddy. She is married now and that comes with grown up responsibilities, time for the real world. And she comes and lives with you and you draw BAH with dependent. As it should be.

Life choices. Just like everyone else has said marrried Soldiers can’t live in the barracks at most duty stations, especially in the states. Just coming in it wil be hard for you to maintain two households. So, have a a good sit down with your wife about all of this.
