Good afternoon all,

Here is my current situation:

I am on orders to Fort Bragg, NC for September of 2021. My wife is currently in AIT and has not yet received her assignment. We are enrolled in the MACP. My question is this, will she also receive orders to Fort Bragg since I am on assignment? If not, what are my options to try and secure them for her? Thank you in advance for your advice!

That depends on whether or not you were enrolled in MACP prior to being placed on assignment. She will need to contact her branch manager, or the IET Assignment manager, and find out. You could contact her manager as well if you CC her military email and she responds

SFC Cory Rodgers it's listed in AR 614-200 and on the HRC web page concerning MACP. You will need to wait until HRC says they can't support your request before attempting a permissive reassignment. She will need to be on assignment before she can have a reassignment

SFC (Join to see) - It's actually how my spouse and I got to Lewis back in 2000 or so. He reenlisted to come here, branch wouldn't PCS me but said I could do a permissive reassignment. His household goods shipment covered our stuff so I just had to pay to drive. It takes some planning but it's doable.

CPT Catherine R. it's definitely something I never tell to junior enlisted because they tend to make emotional decisions with their finances. Most of the time the people asking are two Soldiers who got either got married in AIT or after one reenlisted.

But it is a viable option for more established and financially responsible Soldiers. I'm glad it worked out well for you.

It will also depend on her MOS and if Bragg has a spot for her.
