If this confrontation with Iran ends of boiling over, does anyone know if USMC recruiting command would begin waiving re enlistment codes in my case being a RE-3P? I’ll go back in a heartbeat I just need a waiver as I’m waiting on my appeal from the naval board which can take Up to 18 months.

What is a reenlistment code of RE-3P? I’ve never heard of that one.

Not that this war would happen, but if it did and bodies were needed....it's possible. I've witnessed one guy get a waiver with a drug conviction back in '08.

I see these questions here often. The military will not touch anyone with an RE code like that. We have had too many issues in the past. The only time the military did this was during the surge. Units were doing 18 months in country and we were fighting on two fronts. I don't think we will get to this again. To be honest I would have look at other options at serving such as civil service. The military does not taking back anyone that has any issues.

A discharge code of RE-3P is assigned to former sailors who were discharged from the Navy for medical reasons. If a Navy veteran with a reenlistment code of RE-3P wishes to rejoin the military, he must obtain a waiver from the office of the Commander, Navy Recruiting Command, commonly referred to as COMNAVCRUITCOM.
