That is because we are an all volunteer force, which relies more on incentives and inclusivity to recruit than for strength in numbers. You also tend to have a higher quality of soldier whom are there willingly. <br /><br />But maybe? I just feel like the draft and including women in the draft, is so beyond any modern effort to amassing a force necessary to fight a war. It’s almost too unnecessary to include, but would, in my eyes at least, be good to consider. Good question though. The only way to change that is amending the law. <br /><br />Ultimately I don&#39;t get why people are so bent out of shape because if we need to draft people again and can&#39;t sustain a fight with what we have now, we are probably fucked. If women are equal in the military then they should be equal in the draft. That being said, plenty of women are satisfied with the important role they play in society and have no desire to be a hunter or a killer. Is this kind of equality really what the majority of women want? I personally believe women hold a higher value to society and that men are expendable, so is the ability to fight and serve in combat arms really a move towards equality? Even if women are not going into combat roles there are plenty of non combat jobs . Look at the amount of women that served during WW2, most of our allies were drafting women. WW2 was a significant time for women, not just military service but moving into jobs that had been strictly male before. This is another big break out time for women in the military.
