If you are eligible for the SFC promotion board, based on the MILPER message, will I be notified via email from HRC or is it automatic?

The announcement for the SFC board is out and I meet the qualifying criteria to be eligible for the board. My question is, am I notified via an email from HRC that I am being considered, or is it automatic if I meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the MILPER Message?

The MILPER message will come out and if you meet the Time in Grade and Time in Service requirements identified then that is your green light to start getting your Bord File together. MBF should open up automatically.

Additionally, your S1 should be notified or do their own search of eligible SSGs in your unit and they can send out a notification. But ultimately, getting your board file together and ensuring your records are straight are on you.

Sometimes Branch Managers send out an email and most S1s/CSMs are tracking but it is primarily on the Soldier. You can check to see if you have a board file on HRC, which you should.

Do Soldiers have the ability to submit records electronically nowadays?I come from the days of microfiche, where you better had requested a copy annually to ensure it was up to date, mail in missing orders/awards/etc., and permit much lag time before documents posted (or a barely legible scanned image). Add a drive to Indiana right before the board with your "I love me book" as a final safeguard.

You should receive an email stating that your board file is open. If you can't open it on the date it's supposed to be open, and you know you meet all qualifications, then you'll need to email the promotion branch email on the MILPER message

Yes you should have gotten an email saying you are eligible and that your board file is open for updates.

Check out your "board file" from HRC portal. If it is available to you then you're eligible; otherwise, next year promotion board.
