If you consider yourself prepared to get out of the military, would you consider business ownership?

I got out to be a franchise broker because I can help veterans for free find a franchises. The best ones for us are not the big brands that have the money to chuck in every direction. The ones we need to hear about are the ones who do the most to see us succeed and are in the realm of possibility financially. Those guys are typically growing and don’t have the money to overcome the big Fast food franchises which by the way are the worst choices for veterans.
I hope to change the way franchises are seen by troops because it is one of the best strategies (opinion and arguable)
Today I am doing an interview and have just started doing them regularly. This is a live interview for veteran info. You can ask ?s and I will try and answer on a live broadcast that will be on youtube. I try to show my buddies in the military that there are ways to not only survive the transition but beat the living snot out of it. Join us in a few hours or on youtube if you get the chance.

The event might help you see some of that but the general feedback I get from most vets is that franchises are scams or just out to take money or are so out of reach because of money required. Is that how many of you feel? What have you heard about franchises good and bad? For those analyzing options they need to know both. What stories have you heard? What rumors, what articles do you like?

Thanks for the information. When (ever) I decide to finally retire - I hope to one day to venture into the private sector and own my business. In the mean time, I have to think of something niche' that will keep me in business...lol.

Let me know, I have some businesses you can do now or a spouse can do from home. What ever fits best. You are smart for getting started now. If I knew then what I know now as a franchise expert I would have been rolling in it at this point. LOL
give me a shout when you get the time. I have about 13 business models that would work for you. (That I have vetted) There may be more.

Thanks Alex - I'll send you a message on here with my private email. I much rather talk "offline" in regards to potential future opportunities.

Thanks.

Alex is right on with the "start now" mentality. Even if you just start researching, reading and joining some communities, it will help. There are several articles on my blog, too, about entrepreneurship.
