I think the system would be fairer without it. The main reason I see for the photo is to tell if a person is overweight, and that should be addressed on NCOERs/OERs.<br /><br />Besides the possible bias/prejudice aspect of the photo, there's the possibility that a board member might just not like your (or my) look, and that's not a good reason not to promote someone. And in all cases when a Soldier is not selected a reason why should be given to the Soldier, just like the requirement to tell a junior NCO or enlisted why they did not get promoted. <br />It should be fair to everyone or it is fair to no one.
