From how we wear our uniform to how to set up a table, there are rules we must follow (some of these may be outdated but it's the Army's way of ensuring success). This is a two part question.

1. If you could change/update any Regulation or local Post Policy what would it be and what is your justification?

2. Say there are policies and regulations that are not being followed, however when you escalate the situation the answer is to "make it happen". How would you handle this? If you could change/update any regulation or policy, what would it be? How would you handle situations where they aren't being followed? 2020-02-06T00:36:55-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 5525235

Nearly everything we do is governed by Policy, Regulation, Pamphlets, or Training Circulars. I frequently see Soldiers pinning on Specialist rank long before they are ready. The National Guard allows Soldiers to enlist under a Split Training Option, they completed BCT one summer and AIT the following year. After enlisting National Guard Soldiers are entered in the Recruit Sustainment Program, they drill every month until attending IET and between BCT and AIT. As a result of all this we routinely see Soldiers who are at a basic training level of proficiency but have nearly 24 mos TIS, and are reporting to their unit for the first time within a month or two of having enough TIG to pin on SPC.
