If you could make an award what would it be? It could be a serious one or a silly one.

I think we need one in between an Arcom and Bronze Star/MSM. I got an ARCOM for 15 months in Iraq, one for my ETS from the Army, and one for a two week exercise. Big disparity!

I disagree with the need for an intermediate between the ARCOM and the Bronze Star. I just think Big Army needs to crack down on the dilution of valor and service. My tours were OIF 1 & III. It was doctrine, as far as I can tell, that E-6+ would receive a meritorious BSM for successfully avoiding serious disciplinary issues, while junior personnel received ARCOMs. If you performed valorously enough to warrant notice, you received a second "V'ed" version of the same award... Heaven Forbid a lowly PFC come home with a V'ed BSM, because it might make the leadership look bad to be less brave than their junior personnel.
As for peacetime awards/PCS awards, the same standard needs to be applied. Something along the line of a LOM as a retirement medal, a MSM for ETSing after reenlisting at least once, and an ARCOM for the successful conclusion of a single hitch.

Three levels of MRE consumption badge. If you qualify for gold, they may have to present it to you in the latrine.

You saying that during field exercise the S-1 might be backed up with requests for this award?

Great play on words, but I'm referring to the true consumer of the gastronomical delights. You know the guy that hoards them, trades for them from other countries. These are just some of the requirements.

I like that idea, PO3 Camille Romero. Civilians get 5-year pins. I'd like my 30-year pin for my time in the Army.

Character Award. Doing a great job in your specialty is wonderful, but the individual overall character is lacking in many cases. People who are suppose to be trustworthy seem to think as long as I am doing my job, leave my character out of it. I strongly disagree.
