If you could officially announce a 4 day weekend, what would you call it?

If you could make this change, where on the training calendar would you want an official 4 day weekend to be and why?

This is only for fun to see how crazy the ideas may be.

Use your imagination. I vote for the Impromptu 4-Day Weekend and it goes anywhere on the calendar because it's just that...impromptu. It may just work to your advantage in most situations at work.

I say we have the Army Service Ribbon 4 day weekend and MSG Quick decides when we get it!! Just so we can make sure that everybody has their ribbon and wearing it proudly!!

Okay, I would call it an extended weekend pass for health and morale, it can be Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday; or Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off. If you are stationed in Germany, I think it will be a good deal to take a USO Tour somewhere in Europe.

Hmmmm it would have to be in March or April as that appears to be the largest monthly gap on the calendar.
I'd call it National Grid Square day...you only get the time off if you can find one!

My boss would call it drill.

My daughter gets a week off from school in February. I call it "No apparent reason week." I don't see why we couldn't have a "No apparent reason weekend."

I would make a 4-day weekend for the Army's Birthday. Have the Birthday ball on that weekend so that more people could attend if they need to travel and don't have the leave.

We definitely need something in spring time as stated in previous posts. I like the European idea.. if there are no current holidays in the month, they declare a 'bank holiday'. We'd just have to expand on it to make it a 4 day. Wouldn't call it a 'bank holiday' though.. how about sanity preservation weekend.

I would name my four day...

No pass or leave directly before or after me, because getting a phone call to let me know you are alive is no longer acceptable proof of life and 5 days is too long for a grown ass adult to go with no contact from their baby sitter weekend!

Business as Usual. When I was at Drum 92-93, every 3 day weekend was preceded by Cdr's time starting at 0600 on Friday essentially making it a 4 day weekend because all we did was show up at 0600 "formulate" for reveille and depart.

Either make the traditional 3-day weekend given for the Army birthday a 4-day (which would really only benefit us in the Army I guess), or a 4-day in April or August called Armed Services Celebration weekend for all the branches of military service to have.

Somewhere in March or April. That is the "dead zone" between MLK and Memorial day.
