Depends on the state you get your weapons carry license. In some states there are more stringent training requirements than others. Some states have no training requirement. Some states have Constitutional carry.
2. Regardless of any training requirement, it is always beneficial to get more training, advanced training, and practice.
My $0.02. Youll learn to assemble, disassemble, handle, maintain and accurately fire a variant of the M16/M4 platform. You’ll all get a run through on the 249 and the 240B. You may see a claymore detonated, and an M203/M320 or AT-4 fired. A very small group of soldiers (say, the high BRM qualifier from each platoon) may get to fire the big stuff. Once.

But again, unless BCT has drastically changed, you will not do any training involved with concealed carry. It’s very likely that you won’t fire a pistol. I’d recommend taking any and all classes available for a CC, as BCT and BRM simply won’t prepare you.

That said, it’s all dependent on the issuing authority. Some states only require proof of residence and a copy of active duty orders. Pay the fee, and you can get a CC permit that day. Others are more strict. It depends on where you live. Not to learn all you can is stupid. As far as taking additional range classes involving shooting, well, you go with what you can afford. Some classes involve travel to the site ($), hotel rooms and chow ($$), and ammo (plus your firearm - $$$$$, depending how much ammo you're told to bring), so figure it out. Or, just go to a local range (like me) and do what you can to practice. I'm of the opinion that effective self-defense involves planning ahead ("What do I do if...?) and being mentally and physically prepared.
I wasn't clear on whether you wanted to know about CC in military basic training. If so, forget about it. No service allows CC, nor do they allow CC on any military base (except by law enforcement personnel), and they don't train anybody to do it. In Florida, you can get it at 18 if you've graduated BCT, even if you are not a Florida resident and you are stationed elsewhere, without any additional training. But, you should take the class anyway. It's good information. And get insured through USCCA. Response by SPC Elijah J.
