If you had a choice to reclass to 25E or 79S, what would you choose and why?

Hands down I would go with 79S. Greatest job the Army has to offer. But it truly depends on what is a better fit for you. Each individual is different. Have you researched both? Have you spoke with NCO's in both fields?

25D, 25E is very heavy with SSG and very little SFCs leaving. We've been told multiple times to look into 25D, very marketable.

I did my time as an 11M44.....then 42 missions on Recruiting.... then back to 11M...then in the last 18 months of my career I was assigned as a Career Counselor in a AC/RC Brigade where I was one of the Senior Military Instructors.

My time in Recruiting (Gold Badge; 3x SS) is probably why I made E-7 so quickly.
My time as a Career Counselor was at the end of my Career so it really didn't do much for me.
My time that truly made a difference in my civilian life job was being a Senior Military Instructor.

Whatever you do, look at the possibilities of promotion sure... but also look at what will it do for you and is the path you want to take after the uniform comes off for good...

If you want to positively impact Soldiers through life-long learning, counseling, and guiding Soldiers through career decisions and can work with all levels of Soldiers, Career Counselor may be the route for you.

When don't properly, being a Career Counselor can be a tough, but rewarding career. If you focus on the Soldier, by investing your time (time management is the key), you'll be successful.

As SGM Quick stated, if you really enjoy mentoring soldiers influencing their future leadership potential, then 79S. If you are technically inclined and prefer working as a techy over soldiering, then 25E.

In my short time that I've been a 79S a truly see how much of an impact that a career counselor has on the Soldier's careers. It has been very rewarding.
