SPC Steve Thomas 5770022 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was a 2w051 (ammo) in the Air Guard years ago. I have heard that I may need to repeat tech school if I want to come into an Air Guard ammo slot. Is that true? Is it the unit that decides, or is it Air Guard policy? If you had a five level AFSC years ago but have been separated for a long time, do you have to repeat tech school to go back in Air Guard? 2020-04-12T23:19:27-04:00 SPC Steve Thomas 5770022 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was a 2w051 (ammo) in the Air Guard years ago. After X amount of time a 5 level becomes a 3 level and eventually a 1 level. When I joined the army guard my air force AFSC (3E571) was used to grant me the Army 82C MOS. I didn&#39;t have to go back to basic or AIT. I no longer hold said 3-level in my prior AFSC because it &#39;expires&#39; after 2 years. It can be &#39;reactivated&#39; w/ training &amp; the proper level to sign off on that training.<br /><br />I was told that, if I were interested in going back in to Security Forces, I would need to go back through Tech School since I&#39;ve been out for so long. I&#39;m kind of an old man to be playing such a young man&#39;s game - especially at the rank I&#39;m coming back in at. So I&#39;m opting for a new AFSC...lol Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 13 at 2020 11:04 AM 2020-04-13T11:04:05-04:00 2020-04-13T11:04:05-04:00 CMSgt Donald ONeill 5771938 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No , your tech school is good .
