I joined the Army Reserves 3 months later and went AGR recruiting for 5 years. I went back to reserves then went active duty Army for 4 years. I retired with 23 years active. Short story nothing was recuputed, that is a myth. YES!! It depended. My wife got out of the Army at 13 years. Voluntary Seperstion Incentive (VSI). She later joined the Public Health Service, one of the seven uniformed services, not part of DOD but Health And Human Services. They already told her, and some of her friends, have had the money recouped. So, even thought she didn’t go back to DOD they track you down. But seperation pay - it depends on what kind of seperation pay you received. For example, if you received medical seperation pay the VA will withhold your benefits for the seperation pay received. All recoupment is dollar for dollar on the after taxes pay you received. COL Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 14 Mar 2018 21:19:34 -0400 2018-03-14T21:19:34-04:00 2018-03-14T17:07:49-04:00
