If you sew your name onto your patrol cap, do you also have to sew your rank onto it?

It doesn't specify in the AR. It's definitely more comfortable!

The "and/or" is a "conjunctive/disjunctive". The meaning in the case of the reg in question would be;
-- name may be displayed on patrol cap
-- rank may be displayed on patrol cap
-- name and rank may both be displayed on patrol cap.
I see no evidence that either name or rank is required to be displayed on the patrol cap.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member You DO NOT have to sew both your rank and name on the Patrol Cap. You can sew either one. SSG John C. mentions an excerpt that applies to the ACU and/or OCP top. This is the excerpt about the patrol cap:

*This requirement does not apply to the patrol cap.* If Soldiers choose to sew on U.S. Army name tape, rank or authorized skill badges, it will be at their own expense. Soldiers may wear pin-on badges with sewn on name tape, U.S. Army tape, and grade insignia. Soldiers are not authorized to wear pinned on badges in a field or deployed environment.

No, but sometimes leaders don't know the regulations. It's easier all around to sew everything on. Then you don't have to worry about losing dammits or having the pins rust out (both have happened to me) or even taking it off and putting it back on in the right place every time you wash it.

I did not have my name tape sewed onto my PC and I had only the Rank sewed on to my PC.

As stated the answer is No, but with that said uniformity is the name of the game if you are going to sew your name on you should do the rank as well.
