If you step away from joining the Navy Reserve, does it affect your honorable discharge as a Prior Service? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/if-you-step-away-from-joining-the-navy-reserve-does-it-affect-your-honorable-discharge-as-a-prior-service <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was Active Army 4 years, and decided I wanted to join the Navy reserves. Unfortunately due to some family problems, I have to step away from joining. I have gone to meps, I have not gone to my first drill or A school, but the recruiter told me I &quot;signed&quot; documents, though I have never received paperwork on when I begin my service contract, or given me anytype of service contract. He does say it might get my Re code from 1 to 4, but will it affect my Honorable? Not sure about Navy Reserves, but Army Reserves, a new troop is not required to attend Reserve duties until they are MOS-Q. Contact your Recruiter to find out what unit you were assigned to. If that is known, then contact the unit and speak with them. And let them know of your issues. Also, let your Recruiter know of your issues. Once you signed a contract with the Navy Reserve that would be the date of your new enlistment. If you are unable to fulfill your contract due to unforeseen circumstances your recruiter is correct that your reenlistment code may change. This means if you try to enter the service at a later date you will require a waiver. CDR Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 19 Jul 2020 00:41:34 -0400 2020-07-19T00:41:34-04:00 2020-07-17T12:08:06-04:00
