My wife was still using a CRT monitor when she and I moved in together. She had it because it was still working, and she does not use a computer as often as we do. She used it until she got a good tablet. She has not touched a laptop or a her desktop since. So we donated the system to one of the local schools.Response by SSgt Mark Lines made Jul 28 at 2016 10:57 PM2016-07-28T22:57:56-04:002016-07-28T22:57:56-04:00SPC George Rudenko1759243<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Crt's good fuse for Semtex (die hard)Response by SPC George Rudenko made Jul 29 at 2016 2:06 AM2016-07-29T02:06:17-04:002016-07-29T02:06:17-04:00SGT Laura Delgadillo1759569<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have one in my office because I'm so used to 3 screens and supply wouldn't give me another one and this one was just given to me. LCDs still allow some light through where it should be true black and that skews the image quality. Plus the color output is different (gamut, contrast, temperature, etc.) from LCD/LED monitors. Plasma monitors were closer to CRTs re: black depth/color range but were heavy and way too hot for daily use.<br />Another reason I keep one around is for a backup monitor I can put in the rack in case I need to look at the servers directly (if the KVM fails).Response by MSgt Doug P. made Jul 29 at 2016 9:41 AM2016-07-29T09:41:19-04:002016-07-29T09:41:19-04:00Private RallyPoint Member1760616<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Does it count if it's collecting dust in the basement?Response by Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 29 at 2016 2:15 PM2016-07-29T14:15:42-04:002016-07-29T14:15:42-04:00CPT Enrique M.1762006<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I just got rid of my sony 21 inch crt , 140lbs of pure sexiness that went to the trash after i did my first big move. <br />I miss it the colors and blacks were awesome compared to lcds..Response by CPT Enrique M. made Jul 29 at 2016 10:50 PM2016-07-29T22:50:15-04:002016-07-29T22:50:15-04:002016-07-28T21:35:52-04:00
