I am taking Software Engineering in College and will be developing an App over the next several months/year. I would like information from everyone on what you would like to see in a universal leadership book. Thank you in advance for your input on ideas. It is just myself on this project so it will take awhile, but WILL be in the iOS app store when complete!

Inclusion of meetings outline (purpose, people, productivity, and progress) so that we can focus on the important stuff; acronyms to jog the memory such as SMEAC and BAMCIS (for 5 paragraph op order creation), DIMEFIL, DMAIC, PMESII-PT along with ASCOPE, would give a leader information for on-ground assessments. These are important in a leadership book to determine multiple factors.

The Ultimate Leader's Book in my eyes would pull info from ATRRS, E-MILPO and other systems to build a quick reference for each of your Soldiers and allow for free text entry of information such as close family members and information you would need in the event of an emergency the Soldier is going through including disasters that happen where they have family residing.

Maybe you could find a way to revalidate the soldier info electronically so the soldier won't have to fill out a form/pdf every like 3 months. They can just look at the info and check a box that it is correct at each section....something like that.

OK, I follow I think what you're seeking to achieve. First, obv, you'd need material on the Maslow hierarchy of needs, that's clearly classic and requisite. Then, too, cover PERT/CPM, if you haven't seen it, look up critical path method, or CPM. Next, I'd seriously look up the various professional societies dealing with organizational psychology, as well as extensively research the NIH sites for MEDLINE, both Entrez Pubmed as well as Pubmed Central , the latter is the completely free version. Let me think about the concept for awhile, I need to mull it over somewhat to give you as concrete ideas as possible, however, start with all of that, and let me try to find more that might be of some really practical use, hope that's of help, I'd be eager for your thoughts many thanks.

I saw the other answers here, hopefully what I'd sent in would also be of use, I'll mull it over further, I'd be most eager to know what you think this far, obv as well, if you have time, and if posbl, do try to elaborate as well, if you can also....also, look at http://www.UoPeople.edu for their program on comp sci, it's not regionally accred yet I gather, though they do have DETC accred, and also have bus admin, health sci, and an MBA, they're also nomtition other than admin and exam fees, I don't know if the VA, the svcs, or industry accept them, however they strike me as a bargain, though I don't think they take transfers though I realize you're involved at another school, I merely thought I'd suggest them that's all honest....

Everything important would have PII so I wouldn't feel comfortable putting that info on my personal digital device. Also, when sponsoring Soldiers for boards the Board members may want to see the leaders book. I would feel awkward handing them my iPad.

Hi SFC Private RallyPoint Member , I just had a weekend long NCOPD with out new 1SG and I brought up a question about Leader's Book as an app. So far no one has seen anything worth while or even tried looking. Did you happen to have an app I can check out or possibly something that works well for tracking soldiers? Hello SSG Montoya,

Unfortunately I haven’t finished developing. I wasn’t getting enough feedback asking people what would be good to include in it and in my spare time I decided to pursue my Masters degree that I’m working on now. I do still have plans to make the app. There will still be legal things I have to get in order also. Since I will most likely Charge a couple bucks for it on the App Store I need to get permissions to include a repository of popular TMs and stuff for those who don’t have LOGSA. I’ll also be making a companion app for soldiers to interact with their leaders.
