I know for sure. I learned from a real-world case. My wife was given one year to live. She spent her remaining weeks enjoying family, continuing to raise our kids, enjoying dinners out and going to the movies. I did all the paperwork to ensure the legal matters did not take up her time. She stayed in our house for the entire time. Then her sisters and brother came to visit her, and we held her hand until she stopped breathing. She never complained or whined. Just went out with dignity and a smile.

So if I have just a few hours to go, I'll take it easy, kiss our kids, and pass on quietly.

If i'm ambulatory with all my faculties, gather the wife and kids together, fire up the grill and cook up some rib eyes. Have one last family dinner.
