It's is essentially the same morality question that has been asked for years. Would you do ____ for so much money. It's an easy question to answer knowing it is hypothetical, things can change when there is money on the table and it becomes a legitimate decision. So the real question becomes can you live with yourself and any consequences to personal relationships, and is the money enough to withstand any financial downfall. In my business it would be simple and probably far more rewarding to be willing to fudge on integrity. To me, it is not a selectively applied thing. One either has integrity, or one does not.

When I was young, a little lie here and there seemed acceptable to me. I had lived a pretty rough youth and some lies here and there seemed to make feel a bit better about who I was and where I’d come from. A little story telling if you will.

It takes a lot of work to bring oneself from this mindset back to one of a life of integrity. I still see those pieces of my old self occasionally. I have a feeling that this is why people often hear the blunt unfiltered truth from my mouth, even when it may not be what they want to hear.

So I suppose saying your integrity will never come back is a bit of an exasperation. It is more that this is a line one is better off not crossing. It takes a whole lot of effort to get back to the right side of things.

Yes, that is a talk I have with myself all the time. I love who I am now. I know it took commitment to accept who I am and where I come from. I know I sleep better, and my relationships are better (especially with myself).
