If your unit sends you to airborne school, do you have to PCS to an airborne unit after?

I was told it's mandatory to serve at least x amount of months with an airborne unit and I want to confirm

Quit being a candy ass leg and go to airborne school. You think way too much. If your unit is willing to send you to a school, take that opportunity.

A non airborne unit is not authorized to send soldiers to Airborne School. You can request to go to Airborne School TDY enroute to an Airborne unit. When you go to Airborne School, you will owe 36 months of time in an Airborne unit. You can reference that in AR 614 - 200

Joking aside,. If you have the option to go Airborne, do it! Its an awesome opportunity, opens up more units, you get to freaking jump out of planes, get a bit more money each month. And as PV2 Greg Foster stated, you wouldnt be a dirty nasty leg... AATW!

No you just have to make a certain amount of jumps a year to keep your tab. Most likely you will be sent to an airborne unit during their jump times or FTX

What is your true status. No active unit will send you to AB school without an assignments. On a slim occasion you can pull it as a re-up motivator, but your branch will make you go eventually to an AB unit.

KId judging by your profile, unless the 249 EN has Abn slots, your chances of going to Abn School is less than 0. No slots, then no way in Hell your unit will pay for the schooling, period!
