In conjunction with a PCS, when will my dual-military spouse begin collecting her BAH, before or after she moves out of the barracks?

My wife got orders to come from Bragg to me at JBLM and to PCS in June. I’m currently looking for off post housing. Neither of us has a dependent and she outranks me. I know we can only begin collecting BAH once I’ve vacated the barracks and filled out a DA5960 before 4 months of her arrival but can we collect on her BAH too before June if she is in the barracks or will it just be until she ships?

She has to leave the billets before she can begin receiving BAH, just like you.

I was directed to finance to discuss this with them but they didn’t have an answer for me either. I’ve gone to S1, the housing office for offpost, finance, and spoken to leadership but I haven’t found any clear answers on the subject.
