COLA helps but it still is a hardship for the junior Enlisted folks. I&#39;ll never forget the tragic story about a young boy that hung himself in the 80&#39;s. His Father was an Army SGT and the son was aware of the family finances and how strapped they were. He had once told his Mother things might be easier with one less mouth to feed. I believe the Army Services people helped them as best they could, but the little guy still took his life. It also depends on the member is residing out in town or in the barracks. Barracks would get you partial unless you get approved for geo bac status, keep in mind on the Navy side of the house.
