In dual military family, what is the proper BAH that a soldier should be receiving without children?

From military.com: In general, dual military couples without dependents each receive their respective BAH. In dual military families with dependents, the higher ranking service member receives BAH at the with-dependent rate and the lower ranking service member receives BAH at the without-dependent rate.

Whatever it is still is sometimes not enough in high cost areas. COLA helps but it still is a hardship for the junior Enlisted folks. I'll never forget the tragic story about a young boy that hung himself in the 80's. His Father was an Army SGT and the son was aware of the family finances and how strapped they were. He had once told his Mother things might be easier with one less mouth to feed. I believe the Army Services people helped them as best they could, but the little guy still took his life. Very sad.

The higher rank should be getting BAH with dependant, the lower rank would be getting BAH without

Both service members receive the single rate.
If there were children involved, the senior Soldier would get w/dependents, the junior would continue to receive the single rate.

Single dual military gets single BAH. It also depends on the member is residing out in town or in the barracks. Barracks would get you partial unless you get approved for geo bac status, keep in mind on the Navy side of the house.
