I honor these Marines for their ultimate sacrifice. However, I am outraged that these brave Marines did not have the ability to defend themselves on base, thanks to the stupid law that they cannot carry weapons on post. Thanks Bill Clinton, circa 1993.

Blood boiling anger flows through my veins at times, and this is one of those times. Very sad day. Can you imagine going on deployment after deployment trying to help these jagoffs only to be killed at home? I cry alongside of the families. Mind blown. Semper Fi, Marines.

Anyone who wears the uniform of any branch of the American military has a target painted on them, especially with terrorists being allowed to infiltrate our borders with impunity. Why does the same government that refuses to seal our borders then deny our service members the right to equip themselves for self-defense?

Muslim shooter should equate to enemy guerrilla attack in the homeland attacking non combatant troops (unarmed) and civilian targets. Where was our useless Homeland Security, FBI, CIA, NSA that illegally monitors all calls, did they ignore or allow shootings to occur to get people to give government constitutional bypass in exchange for false security. We will see an increase in these events. Pretty sure it will backfire on the new world order plans to disarm Americans, because had those Marines been armed, they would have returned fire. More civilians will want to be prepared, especially veteran's. The enemy has said they are targeting military both active duty and veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq.

God bless and Semper Fi to our fallen Marines and their families! Its shows our military doesn't have to be deployed to be sent to harms way. Terrorism is a threat even in the homeland and the military is a prime target as we we have seen at Fort Hood, Washington Navy Yard and other installations and offices.

4 Marines dead. Killed by the enemy or someone philosophically aligned with the enemy and acting on the enemies expressed orders/wishes etc.

I think it is safe to say we were pretty sure something like this was coming. The DoD has fiddled while Rome burns. We could have been and should have been hardening locations a long time ago. Just over the July 4th holiday we had cities locking things down and here the military sits, fully exposed. The reserve centers certainly have weapons and the ability to provide security for themselves. ANY Marine could have outgunned this loser from longer distances than he was engaging from.

Recruiting offices are more of a challenge. We need to agree to arm recruiters or allow them to be meat on a stick. Most recruiters are NCO's and/or SNCO's. It is past time to allow them to protect themselves from this. I suspect he will not be the last, he certainly was not the first.

My heart and prayers go out to our fallen comrades and thier families. It is time to take these people down. The battle is not over seas anymore, it is now here at home. We need to make sure our installations and recruiting stations have the needed equipment to keep themselves safe from these kinds of attacks. I believe this is only the beginning and I for one am not leaving my home without my firearm. May God be with all our brothers and sisters in uniform HERE and abroad.

We wondered last summer why the honor guards in Ottawa were not armed with loaded rifles. Yet again, why aren't all military armed in uniform? That would prevent this kind of outrage... or at least mitigate it...

My condolences to the friends and families of these true Heroes; Marines, Navy Sailors and Police Officers killed and injured in this cowardly act by nothing but a coward. It's just flat out infuriating that these Marines did not have weapons to be able to defend themselves because of a very outdated regulation. There is a Global War on Terror and it is here at home. Our service members have to be able to protect themselves here at home with firearms. Now the Pentagon needs to decide how to get that done!

After no less than five acts of domestic terrorism in as many years, we still do not have the ability to protect ourselves on military installations. How many more senseless killings will have to take place before our government and military leaders act to make it legal for individuals to carry weapons for self defense. We are required to carry a weapon at all times in combat zones, well, with this latest incident, the combat zone has come home and carrying a weapon here should be a requirement also. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS. In most cases it would seem that the post commander would have the authority to enact this.

Which is worse? We lost four Marines to a cowardly terrorist attack or we had to shame our President into acknowledging them? Or that his Administration is resisting naming it an act of terrorism? These questions and more plague me. How can we fight a war when our service members are sent onto the battlefield unarmed? How can we fight a war that our Commander-in-Chief refuses to name? How can we fight an enemy who is allowed to cross porous borders with impunity? How many more Americans and Service Members will be wounded or killed in the remaining months of this Administration? How many more if it is simply replaced by another Administration that hides behind political correctness to fundamentally change a nation that didn't need changing? Will we ever have a government that focuses on its first and foremost duty to defend America rather than changing it? Will we ever have a government that acknowledges the right of every American, not only service members, to defend themselves? Will we ever have a government that will simply leave us the hell alone, to live as free individuals with inalienable rights?
