In the 18E course are they implementing cyber related lessons?

Just curious to know if they are adding cyber related lessons in the 18E course. It makes sense to give 18E's an opportunity not only to do communications, but learn cyber techniques that could help down range.

Maybe so, would they have to make the course longer? It's already pretty long

Joshua, spoken like a true SF 18E. I had a friend, an 18E, that routinely practiced making improvised antenna overtime he was in the field. I ask him one day, why? His response was simple and 100% dead on, "because you never know what will happen". I got older I realized as I found myself all over the world in places where an issued antenna would work only to have a great commo man make everything okay.

Sir that's the kind of guy I am and that's it the type a guy a team will have when I show up at the front door. Constantly studying environmental affects on communications and how I can improve different situations that could possibly happen is key in my eyes. I just have to get up out of the 82ND and get to selection.

Joshua best of luck, SFAS & SFQC will be some of the worst best memories you will ever have. There will be things you learned that you did not realize were a lesson until sometime later in some far away land. That has happened to me more than once haha

I've talked to a recruiter, but he's been outside of the school house for so long and he's a 18B so he really don't care about the 18E course. I'm tracking I have to just talk to another recruiter

SGT (Join to see) - Josh something to remember I spent 20+ in Special Operations, the only constant in any of the 18 series courses besides the suck factor being high is change. It will blow your mind, it is like nothing you have ever seen. The JFK special warfare center and schools is a world of its own. They are big boys over there and they treat the candidates like big boys. If you can live by that code you will make it, if not you will end up back where you started, no harm no foul.

Hearing this from you sir is not only motivating, but re-assuring me that I belong over in the SOF community. I want to be an 18E because I know the job, I know radios, antennas and the importance of communication. I want to work in a smaller group and be a part of something great. I am training up day in and day out, so once I finish BLC this September then I can go ahead and head to selection. I appreciate your input sir. LTC Jeff Shearer

Yes, and it has been for quite a while. As technology evolves, the lesson plan evolves to cover the latest trends, tactics, techniques, and proceedures.
