To network as well as find encouragement or words of wisdom from other service members who "have been there, done that and has the T-shirt"

No real goal for me. I'm always interested in running across people I knew in the military or know now as a civilian. That's been reasonably successful...first day or so I was here I ran across someone who was in the same unit I was in for my last assignment...we knew a lot of the same people.

Dont be afraid to seek mentors and guidance from individuals that has been successful in the civilian transition

Networking with fellow military members to work my way through military retirement transition process as I try to find my next place to call home and civilian employment. Also to just follow the informative information here at RallyPoint and contribute when I can.

I enjoy reading the responses to folks who have posted questions and problems seeking advice and suggestions on personal and professional problems. It does bother me to see questions and issues raised on RP which it seems, should be able to be resolved at the COC level or through a mentor or experienced SM in the person's unit. People should not have so much trouble getting issues solved within the system which is supposedly in place to foster growth and development in subordinates through leadership.

Since I've been retired nearly 5 years now and don't need to network for employment my goal was to hear from current and former service members the discussions are interesting,informative and some of the pissing matches are hilarious I am also amazed by the interest shown about the Vietnam war for me it was yesterday for current service members it's history and for some reason they find some of us older veterans actually interesting also,I thank them for that.

Interesting 46% of the people are using Rally Point for no specific reason, they are employed and having fun. Wow that is surprising. Only 15% use to connect with employers, 31% to network and 8% to get trailblazer points

Is anybody surprised by these results?

I'm already employed, but I love the military community and I love feeling like I am still a part of it, so I enjoy the networking aspect of it. I like being able to communicate with service members from all walks of life both enlisted and officer from multiple branches of service.
