If you mock the majority or what seems like it, is is acceptable. White male christians are "acceptable" to mock, yet black female muslims - totally prohibited; of course, I am making an assumption based on the general American population as observed via social media and news media. I completely disagree with all of it. As a society we should respect all people and if we are mocked by anyone, we should not be so serious about it. Your question seemed to imply that only the Christian religion was really a religion and that is in and of itself an attack on other religions I've never seen used against Christianity.

Sure, the political power of various groups has a huge impact on what can be said and what is politically acceptable. Take for example Muslims trying to emigrate into the US, one of the parties in our two party system is calling for a (theoretically temporary) ban on Muslims entering the US... there is no politician out there foolish enough to target Christians or Jews in a similar manor. Doing so because of being "against" religion in general, or someone else's religion, probably qualifies as "politically incorrect" at least if not "hate speech", especially when it is done to rabble rouse others into taking violent action.
On another note, it can be hilarious when comedians poke fun at a religion they identify with, as well as being instructive to those who make unfounded negative assumptions about the beliefs of others because violent people without credibility "said so".
