In Your Opinion (and please be constructive) Could This Work?

In case your aren't going to watch the trailer, this is a movie about how a woman living in the South side of Chicago and how she organized other women associated with gang members to deny those men ANY physical contact until a lasting peace was had. This is NOT a call for gun restriction or anything that is meant to get people crying about gun control. I'm just curious as to whether or not this would work, as many of us men are very aware of the power of women.

It's actually based on an ancient play Lysistrata by Aristophanes. It's 2400 years old.

I like when "classics" are reinvisioned to modern settings. I'm not a huge Spike Lee fan, but i may actually go see this one.

As much as I would like to see this work, I have a hard time believing it would happen in the real world. I just think men would look elsewhere to have their...needs...fulfilled.

SSG Michael Hartsfield IMO Black women have always been portrayed as 'strong' leader types when they chose. Given the present state of affairs, someone in that community needs to exert more effort towards improving their lot in life. I do not believe the Black "Leaders" responding to problems with vitrolent rhetoric, aid the people they claim to represent!

It's nice to think that this would be a plausible solution. But are we really that niave? First, the women are banding together due to association with gang members...gang members...not really the most upstanding citizens. That being said, and with a bit of generalization from various sources, would these gang members really play along? Or would they just look elsewhere as someone else has already posted. OR, would they use violence to get their way, sadly assaulting or coercing their female partners.

I like the concept, but I guess I am a bit cynical that it could actually work that way in reality.
