And the fact that the idiot decided to film it a put it online for the world to see just shows how dumb our Soldiers and leaders are becoming. Im willing to bet that his 1st line leader didn't even scold him or punish him for this, hell he may have even been the guy filming it. This makes my blood boil. Where was the leadership? Someone should have been the responsible adult in this scenario stepped up and said "NO" or "STOP". This is the type of RISKY behavior that results in unnecessary injury and death. It does remind me of an experience in Germany in 1992. My company was one of two from our Brigade that got to travel to Berlin for a week of training. We were given the plastic bullets used for training in those constrained training areas. Since both companies were going to rotate training areas, I drove over to my partner to see how his training was going. He had a long look on his face and told me that two of his Soldiers had decided to see how well the Kevlar flak jackets would stop a plastic bullet. Instead of placing it around a tree or something, one Soldier shot the other Soldier while he was wearing the vest. The bullet penetrated the vest but not the skin. It still injured him and resulted in attention of all the wrong kinds.
