I hope you enlist soon and start working towards your goals.

Understand, when it comes to anything elite you are very disconnected from the reality of that organization. You don't have a clear picture and understanding of the regular Navy yet, let alone it's elite operations. So, even if you get insight shared with you, you can only do so much with it. You are working from a disadvantage. In other words, you just don't know what you don't know. This is just my opinion, I'm not elite. But I have been around many who were. They will tell you one thing is most important, that those who succeed in our country's special forces community are those who sincerely care about the men and women on their left and right. When you're cold, tired, wet, pissed off, and hungry and you still keep pushing because you know your buddy is counting on you, then you might have what it takes. I can tell you that's a big part of the Army rangers. I would assume it's the same for the Navy Seals.

What will serve you best is the facts. These will keep you focused and open-minded so the instructors you meet along the way can train you effectively. Recruiters are your best start for the facts. From there, I know there are a few quality preparation programs and camps for BUDs. Get on their websites. If you're committed, you can shell out money and time to prepare under former Navy Seals.

If you're still craving the stories and want to know more about what to expect, the TV show Navy Seals Buds Class 234 is a classic . 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 21 Nov 2022 05:15:20 -0500 2022-11-21T05:15:20-05:00 Response by CSM Darieus ZaGara made Nov 21 at 2022 5:50 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/interested-in-becoming-a-navy-seal?n=7991921&urlhash=7991921

Sounds like you are motivated. It is a long haul from here to there. Don’t misplace your motivation. You should realign the ultimate sacrifice to the position once earned. It is admirable that you are willing to lay your life on the line for this country.

I recommend that while you look toward being a Seal that you also look at the entry requirments and the annual selection rate. Then discuss with your recruiter what is necessary for service prior to selection.

So don’t lose the motivation, just ensure it holds true with serving in the mainstream military before selection.

Good luck. I know that the frogmen can rightfully claim to be SEALs because of a former Gov of Minniesoda. I think when he was frogman, their job was just to go in to the invasion beaches ahead of the force and blow obstructions. Remember watching them at Little Creek or perhaps Fort Story coming in on the Higgins boats and then coming back around with the raft on the side and picking them up. So why teach a potential SEAL to be a frogman? I think BUDS stands for Basic Underwater Demolition School. Not Navy, but picked up some of the stuff being around it because of his service.
You can enlist in the Delayed Entry Program on a SEAL challenge contract. That should put you with a SEAL mentor to start preparing sailors for RTC, which included making sure you meet all the standards and pass the SEAL Physical Screening Test before you hit RTC. When my son went through (not a SEAL), the Special Warfare enlistments had their own sections and trained separately from the rest of the Recruits. Then you stay on for Pre-BUDS and then to BUDS.
You need a very good ASVAB and the physical standards are tough just to try out. The pass rate for everyone is horrible. The Navy has to get their cooks from somewhere.
That is the equivalent of an 18X Special Forces Enlistment in the Army.
