Invites to Personal Events by Commander? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/invites-to-personal-events-by-commander <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;m currently serving on a small team that consists of 7 Officers and 15 NCOs. My commander recently sent an invite to all members to a baby shower for him and his wife. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this. Rejoice with them. Buy a gift. Have a beer. Smile. Go home. 2LT Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 15 Sep 2018 23:08:17 -0400 2018-09-15T23:08:17-04:00 Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 16 at 2018 1:11 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/invites-to-personal-events-by-commander?n=3967756&urlhash=3967756 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Have fun. Don&#39;t drink and drive. Giving diapers at a baby shower is a great gift. It actually breeds cohesion especially with you in a small team. Got it. Skipper&#39;s style points suck. Proper protocol would be for the wife to invite other ladies and guest with a note there&#39;s stuff for the guys too. The people that come are glad to vs. compelled to. I&#39;ve always been very adverse to &quot;command performances&quot;. The only command stuff that I pushed for all hands was the redeployment bash where I bought most the beer. I kept the awards stuff to twice a year and had tolerated the change of commands as a necessary thing. That and the Dining Ins were epic. CAPT Kevin B. An Officer however non commissioned yet an Officer non the less. So, be professional, appropriate, and above all else have fun. 1SG William Svoboda Sun, 16 Sep 2018 13:29:23 -0400 2018-09-16T13:29:23-04:00 2018-09-15T22:39:57-04:00
