Fly a minimum of 1 hour to 8 hours on the helicopter(either Day or Night).

My opinion: This is a job that pays more in the civilian side but you gotta be confident in what your doing, plus the computer program tells you the task step by step. UH-60 Blackhawk Repairer. Besides the obvious of becoming a soldier, you will work on an outstanding aircraft. Get your Airframe & Powerplant license as soon as you have the chance, and after your enlistment you can land a great job in commercial aviation. Military UH-60s are being converted to fire-fighting aircraft every day. Departments all over the country are already short on mechanics that can service the Firehawks. As for college courses, you will have the time. Especially if you take your courses on-line. I enlisted for 3 years and ended up doing 28. CH-47 Helicopter Repairer. Later OCS, flight school, UH-1H, OH-58A/C, and C-12R/V. Commanded a company and even a brigade. It was absolutely enjoyable (most of the time) and the friends I made are friends for life.
