Is 17C accepting SSGs for reclassification?

I’m an 11-year SSG considering reclassing to 17C or 25D. I know 25D is definitely accepting SSGs. The current MILPER message says that 17C is only accepting up to SGTs, yet 17C has a “yes” for in calls for SSGs, which seems contradictory. Does anyone know if 17C is an option for me?

As of about two months ago they were still taking E6s I haven't heard/read anything that says differently

I just contacted someone there and they said yes ssg are able to put in a packet

4. The Army continues to seek a limited number of highly qualified Soldiers in the ranks of Private through Sergeant to become cyber operations specialists (MOS 17C). Cyber operations specialists execute offensive and defensive cyberspace operations in support of the full range of military operations by enabling actions and generating effects across all domains. The cyber operations specialist ensures the freedom of maneuver within the cyberspace domain and denies the same to adversaries. Cyber operations specialists will enable offensive cyberspace operations intended to project power by the application of force in and through cyberspace by targeting enemy and hostile adversary activities and capabilities. Cyber operations specialists also enable defensive cyberspace operations in order to protect data, networks, net-centric capabilities and other designated systems by detecting, identifying and responding to attacks against friendly networks.

5. U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC) is accepting voluntary reclassification requests into MOS 17C from Soldiers meeting the following prerequisites for reclassification:

a. Must be a Sergeant or below.

But hey - if this has changed - LET ME KNOW. I was about to submit a packet back in 2015 and saw that they changed the cutoff rank.

You can also put in for a waiver. I know a few SSGs currently in course that did this. I was a little confused as to how it happened and they explained it too me.

I currently work in an INSCOM unit and we go based off of the Milper message. Nothing over a SGT is what they are taking for 17C. The Cyber Proponent was referring all of our intel Soldiers that were SSG and above to submit Warrant packets. I would continue looking into 25D or even take a look into 51C. There's always the possibility of going to recruiter duty and then submitting a 79R packet.
