Is a demoted soldier eligible for a waiver to E-4? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-a-demoted-soldier-eligible-for-a-waiver-to-e-4

My Coc is working on getting me promoted, I was demoted with Field Grade Article 15 from E-3 to E-1 in year 2017, I did TIG made my rank back to E-3 current,
and S1 told me that soldier with history of rank reduction is not eligible for waiver to SPC. Is this true? What my knowledge is that once I make back my previous rank, then I should be back on normal track of my rank. Your S1 is looking pretty dumb right now. But just to be certain ask them to point out the regulation they speak of in the below AR. I only glanced through it fast so it is possible I could have missed it BUT I did not see any such restriction on a waiver. You can read for yourself...........you really need a bar or flag on favorable actions which would impact waiver authority, IMO but I am by no means an expert so read up on the below, this is what AR's are for....educating yourself. https://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/pdf/web/r600-8-19_Web_FINAL.pdf

I believe you are correct otherwise once your promoted back it should be like nothing happened in the past unless your doing something else that ticks them off.

r600-8-19_Web_FINAL.pdf

SPC Erich Guenther Mon, 01 Apr 2019 23:13:54 -0400 2019-04-01T23:13:54-04:00 Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 2 at 2019 2:49 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-a-demoted-soldier-eligible-for-a-waiver-to-e-4?n=4506231&urlhash=4506231

AR 600-8-19 (Enlisted Promotions and Reductions): Section II, Paragraph 2-3, Subparagraph C5 states "Any Soldier previously reduced (for misconduct, inefficiency, or cause) must be fully qualified (without a waiver) for promotion to the next higher rank."

If I understand this correctly, then this means that your S1 is correct in that you are not eligible for a waiver since you were administratively reduced.
