Now, I want to go Active Duty, and I was wondering since I already have that preliminary release will it help me in getting a conditional release, or is it the same thing and should I tell my unit that I already have a release? Is a preliminary release the same as a conditional release? 2017-03-16T22:21:51-04:00 SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member 2426500 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So, I have a preliminary release from the ARNG because I was looking for jobs on Tour of Duty. You still have to wait for that to work its way up the chain and back down. Periodically, check in with your CoC to see if they have a status update. Patience, young Padawan. A conditional release is to release you from your current service component so you may join another. At least that&#39;s my understanding.
