Is a reclass to 68M only for E-4 and below? Can I get a waiver if I am outside the rank window?

Is a reclass to 68M only for E-4 and below? If someone is an E-4p or E-5 can they still reclass to that? Can I get a waiver if I am outside the rank window? I meet all other requirements but I didn’t see anything pertaining to rank for reclass.

DA Pam 611-21 and ATRRS course catalog list all prerequisites. You can find the link to the DA Pam on Army Reenlistment, listed as the MOS Smart book. We don't go off of what's listed on GoArmy or anything like that.
Only the MOS proponent can grant a waiver to the prerequisites. Whether they will grant one is at their discretion, based on their needs and your packet.
FYI 68M is a cook. You'll attend 92G AIT first and cook in hospitals. No field time, but the promotions are crap.

A 68M is a Nutrition Care Specialist with an acquired 92G Cook Mos as well. Its essentially two Mos's in one. First you go to Fort Lee to obtain the 92G mos and then Fort Sam Houston for the 68M mos. As a 68M working in a Hospital I have prepared patients individual meals in the kitchen but, there are other areas that i was able to rotate to. I have worked in the kitchen cooking, taking orders in the call center and delivering food to the patients rooms. Then i went to work at the Nutrition Clinic in the hospital as an Administrative Assistant as well as teaching the weekly hour long Fit for performance class for active duty soldiers and a Heart Healthy Class for civilians and active duty. I was able to assist with Cooking Demos at special events. After that, I started training as a Diet tech screening patients. I was also trained to call the Nutrition Clinics patients and help them set up their Adobe Connect for their Tele-Health Appt. So, while a 68M can get stuck "cooking" in the Hospital, they do get rotated to different areas of the job. I was able to work in all these different parts of my job in 1 year of working at the Hospital. Although, it can be different for each 68M. At the moment, 68M Mos is in overstretch. I actually just got tasked out to the Mail room because there are too many of us 68M in my Department. Let me know if you have any questions.

Yes you can re-class it depends on wether the MOS is overstrength or balanced. And a btw a 68M isn’t a cook. You will do your job i.e screening patients etc.

I have an E-4 Prior in my class right now and I know previous classes have had NCOs, if that helps!
