Their promotion rates are some of the toughest in the Army.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 1 at 2018 1:14 AM2018-12-01T01:14:46-05:002018-12-01T01:14:46-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5960107<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The Army came up with Specialist grade after WW2 /Korean war when the Army had Tech Sargent grades. should one research it, there was a Specialist 2 to Spec 8s' Specialist meant to be; clerks, cooks, RTO, mechanics medics, & every other MOS. With only NCOs of the Combat arms, Armor, Infantry, CBT Engineer, Artillery were to 'Lead' troops in combat.. Over the years Spc 2/3,6,7,8,9 were done away with in the RVN war & soon after the Spc grade was whittled down to 4,5 & 6. not much more than being paid/ promoted for having been in a war zone.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 1 at 2020 8:20 PM2020-06-01T20:20:55-04:002020-06-01T20:20:55-04:002018-11-30T22:53:18-05:00
