Is all the trash talk helping?

Now, I know that for you guys still serving, you really are in no position to talk trash about the Commander-in-Chief, at least not openly. To he honest with you, I've been retired for 11 years and I still will ot do it. My question is more about the value of trash talking. Is is really helpful to no on national TV and claim a political figure does not love his country? For that matter, it is possible that, instead of debating real issues, "we" spend too much time pointing fingers and making silly claims?

Excellent question! Personally, I think "trash talk" has replaced real discussion of real issues.

Just because someone doesnt like it doesn't make it trash talk. It may be a fact that someone else just don't like.

Well...In my opinion I think it helps. Lets face it. the Liberal left owns the media. It is our responsibility to stick up for the ones still serving. If the media won't report on the liberal left. Then we must pick up the spotlight.
And I do believe the President while campaigning did call President Bush Unpatriotic. So what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Great question CW4 Ray Montano! The problem is when talking points and unsubstantiated claims take hold of our national dialogue. When Guiliani says that our president doesn't love America, what does that mean? How can you qualify that statement? It's a meaningless statement intended to emote responses rather than dialogue. Giuliani is a trained orator, and as a lawyer, he knows how to make a convincing case riddled with fallacies. So, in fact, do too many of our politicians. This galvanizes our society and creates a climate riddled with and fueled by confirmation bias which is not healthy for society.

In my honest opinion trash talk is not productive and incites the seat of the pants voter who does not research topics and or candidates. Will you completely stop it no I do not think so but I believe that some how some way we corral it and limit it, although I think that is a pipe dream. Stop pointing fingers roll up the sleeves and get to work.

Trash talking simply prevents us from having fact based meaningful discussions regarding the things that trouble our country. To solve our national problems, we need to stop bashing, and start realizing that we all suffer or succeed as a collective; not as a fragmented group of special self serving interests.
