There is supposedly an alert along the southern boarder moving through all agencies re: a 9/11 style multiple car bombing attack within the next two weeks. The chatter is exceeding 9/11. Someone seems to be taking this very seriously.

Well, they were innovative. If illegals thought that these folks' plan could have worked, they would have done it a long time ago.
America has always been susceptible to attack. Sure, policing of our borders and beaches is a semi-useful deterrent. But those who are going to attack are ALREADY here.
The terrorist infrastructure is already in place. Another strike on American soil isn't a question of how, but of when.

Cpl Private RallyPoint Member _ I think to believe otherwise is short-sighted and at best myopic. And I do not really care who is or is not responsible in the long run because our mission should be to ferret out potential threats like American, Canadians or countries with people waiting to hurt people in the name of whatever religion or fringe element that is out there. And they are!!!

I'll read the article after this post. Without a shadow of a doubt we are susceptible of being attacked again. Yes there are those who are aware of their surrounding and there are those who will step up to the plate and act when they see something wrong. However, that's only a few and for the most part if you actually go out and watch people, you'll see that people are wrapped up in their own lives [which they should be] that they don't notice the homeless person asking for spare change on the side of the road.

We are extremely susceptible due to many failures on the part of our govt. and DHS. Our borders are extremely porous and the enforcement personnel have their hands tied. It is fact that Islamic terrorists have made it across our borders. In fact cartels were paid tens of thousands of dollar per person to sneak some of them in.
There are 35 Islamic only compounds inside the US borders such as Islamville, SC or. Islamberg, NY. While they say that they are just close knit communities of Muslims it doesn't quell concerns that they are harboring these terrorists.
Recent chatter across intelligence lines speak of an imminent attack threat on 9/11/14 such as VBIEDS in the southern border region. However due to the unknown number and location of terrorists within our borders it could happen anywhere.
Sadly if such a thing were to happen on our home turf there will be increased violence against all people of Muslim faith.

Our borders are, and probably always will be, incredibly susceptible to infiltration. We obsess about the Mexican border, but far more successful and attempted terrorist attackers have crossed the Canadian border. Yes, that's what I save *have crossed.* Similarly, have any of the terrorist attacks in the US involved someone who has crossed into the US from Mexico? Last I checked it has been exclusively Canada and Europe.

The Canadian border makes the Mexican border look simple to close. Mexico does present some particular dangers - the steady growth of ungoverned areas in Mexico presents the possibility of terrorists moving into those areas. OTH, calling those areas ungoverned is only partially correct - the criminal gangs do have and want to maintain control of many "ungoverned" areas. If ISIS thinks that the women of the PKK are tough, they are likely to find the Zetas are a really ugly surprise.

Is the US complacent? If you're asking about the vast majority of people - yes, they are. They were before 2001 and they have remained so since then. Is the US government complacent? The parts I work in are not - although the bureaucracy that self-streamlined for the last three months of 2001 reasserted itself in 2002 and has progressively reabsorbed the "rogue" elements who were trying to function agilely.

Is Allen West's column an attempt to garner votes by setting to say "I told you so!" if something remotely like what he warned about happens? Is the Pope Argentinian? Allen West is a pundit with agenda - which appears to include getting Allen West back into Congress.

The sad part is that if we remove all the freebies we give the illegal aliens and, frankly, any person who is not a citizen, we could remove the majority of illegal crossings. Then, if we police the businesses to enforce not hiring any person not authorized to work here (impose new and strict penalties with the necessary "teeth" to allow enforcement.) we could remove the majority of the illegal crossings that are left. I would estimate that we could reduce the number of illegal immigrants by at least 75%-85%. This would leave our current ICE agents more able to actually stop the criminals and terrorists from entering.

But then again, this is a pipe dream because Congress does not want to solve the problem, because then they could not justify spending billions of dollars every year on "solutions" that have a net effect of increasing the flow of illegal aliens and increasing the money we need to spend on giving them all the benefits that a normal US Citizen can not get and a level of living that far outweighs what over half of the Citizens of this country are able to afford.

I think they're trying to show us that a wall won't stop them. The human smugglers are trying to stay ahead of the game and for them it may also be a demonstration or proof of concept < for client terrorists looking for ways to enter our country illegally.
