Is anyone aware of an Army Reserve SGT position in either Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina or Alabama?

Hello, I am transitioning to out of active duty ,but I want to stay in the Reserve ,but I want to get promoted as well. So, is their anyone in the area who slot position for a 25L as a SGT? I already have BLC and I am willing to go Airborne and Air Assault as well. I prefer anywhere in Georgia , but beggars can be choosy. Any information, input, or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Your best chance would be to talk to a retention NCO at one of the local reserve units. They should have the ability to pull up empty slots and tell you what is available for your MOS. There used to be a site on HRC that allowed you to input MOS and rank and it would give empty slots, but I cannot say for sure that site works any more.

Go to the following url:

https://www.hrcapps.army.mil/portal/

Log-in with your CAC. Across the top of the page, third link from left is tools. Click it. On the next page, left side you will see a list of various links. The bottom link is "Vacancy Search". Click it and you can search by state, MOS, rank, etc., and it will show all openings in your target area as well as actual locations, POCs and contact information for the unit. This allows you to communicate directly with the unit and the Commander/1SG before you make the decision on a unit. Feel free to message me if you need additional information or guidance.

A bit confused by the way the question was worded BUT I think you are confused by how promotions work in the USAR. Try talking with an in-service recruiter or any of the retention people.

Talk to the Retention NCO at your current RA unit. He can find every opening and get you re-enlisted into the USAR.

Why don't you go see your reserve component Career Counselor as you are required to as part of transition? This is exactly what they do as a full time job.
