Time after time after time conservatives and liberals are stereotyped not only by the media but by the current administration. My country is now divided into several camps primed to violently lash out at each other.

When I hear the term white privilege, I am confused. Is this suppose to mean that I should be ashamed of being white for all of the advancements I have had? Or does this mean that since I am white, I have to be rich because everything is handed to me? I'm very confused by this. I can site some examples where I was the recipient of racial discrimination based on the fact that I am white. In Omaha, NE when I was getting ready to enter high school (and there are at least 8 high schools throughout Omaha), I was wanting to go to a school that was located downtown. But, where I lived, I was told that I had but 2 choices to go. And the reason they gave that I had only 2 choices, was because I was white and they wanted to keep the racial balance and harmony as equal as possible. A black kid two houses down from me was told he could go to any high school in town he wanted. The school I chose was located pretty much in the heart of North Omaha. The racial balance in that school was NOT balanced harmony. Us white folk were the minority in that school. Fine. So be it. Accepted what they told me, and I moved out and drew fire and got my HS diploma. That is but one example. Once upon a time ago, I was dating this one lady, and she was attending the local community college for her nursing degree. She had to work, get grants and loans just to pay for school. She was actually told by the financial advisor that if she were a single black pregnant lady, her education would be paid for. Her and I shook our heads. Moved out and drew fire and worked to get her schooling done. BUT, we sure as hell didn't have anything handed to us because of white privilege. I am not bitter about it. Yes, sometimes I shake my head, but I am not bitter. I take it as it comes. I go about my business and do what I need to do. But telling me that I have a better life because I am white is a bunch of crap. I have a better life because I CHOSE to have a better life. I didn't choose to break laws. I didn't choose to stay in dangerous neighborhoods. I didn't choose to blame others for my failures or shortcomings. I mean, how would I be received if I started blaming black people or Hispanic people for all the bad stuff that happens to me? My housing is paid for by my own paycheck. My gas and power are paid for by my paycheck. And my food is paid for by my paycheck. Those bills hurt, yes. But I also don't go spending $4,000 on wheel rims or $600.00 on a smart phone while pulling out my EBT to pay for food at the grocery.

But, social media and "news" organizations call me, the white guy, the bad guy.

I'll draw fire for this but I'm not making a racist statement. I grew up poor. Never was on food stamps because both my parents grew up during the Great Depression and going on relief was a huge moral failure.

There were plenty of nights I ate rice and bouillon gravy. My mother worked tremendous hours off the clock to keep us afloat. I'm the first one in my family to graduate high school, both my parents had to quit to help support the family.

I was taught there were 4 types of people. Those are White, Black, White Trash and Niggers. The first two types work for what they have and are worthy of respect. The last two are parasites and just suck the life blood out of society. You might not like the names I use but they're what I was taught.

Our government is again separating us into these camps. Let's hope we don't go to war against each other.

Sadly this is my observation, we are more polarized, less willing to engage. People are spring loaded to go from zero to 60. People are afraid and the media keeps them that way. I've never been mugged or harassed by a black person yet the media wants me to believe I might be at any moment. All this angst is not what I thought Americans should tolerate or encourage. Some days I'm glad I'm older.

It will only stop when the media and everyone else stops making a big deal about it. Stop having race checked on census form, stop having to "choose" a side. If you're born in American they all they need to know is that you're a citizen. Maybe it only needs to matter on medical forms, where certain ethnicities are prone to certain illness more than others.

There is a problem in our country, too many of its citizens watch the news, in front of the TV, and get fed this crap. It is not our country that is the problem, we as a people have stopped living life and started watching others! I guarantee that if we turned off the TV and actually went about our lives in ordinary fashion, many of these problems would dissipate.

Well let start by saying , political correctness has become a rampant issue which will destroy all values! The media plays a huge role on how things are projected by people of all races, and then you'll continue to have a certain party that keeps the stigma of race a live issue instead of moving on. I thought when I came to the United States in 1958 this was a place for all people, not based on skin color or any other rhetorical bullshit. It's sad when my grandchildren are ridiculed by a Hispanic lady in Hubbard Texas, due to the fact they happen to be biracial .
I have been very outspoken to the point of chewing your ass out if I'm in your presence, so lets put this to an end now once and for all ! I had the pleasure of taking an E-9 to a private meeting with a 0-6 when he continued to refer to me as a Natzi being of German descent . Color of skin shouldn't even be an issue in this day and age folks so lets get on with it.

I wasn't raised to be a racist. Although my parents didn't have any respect for the blacks, they didn't use the N word or run down blacks to us. Where I grew up was a redneck, KKK, type town. I never even knew a black person until the Army. I got along with everyone, and they got along with me. Honestly, the white, black, brown, subjects never came up at home. I was naive about race when I went in the Army. I was made a squad leader in basic, and most soldiers in my barracks were black. There were three white squad leaders and one black squad leader. As far as I know I didn't have any enemies. All of this crap going on these days with race is beginning to backslide to the days of my time and all the riots and racial slurs in the vocabulary again. I'm not stupid. I know that there are some white cops that are racists and are used to getting away with beating up a black man or woman. Even today, when it's right there before your eyes and a black man or woman is being held down until they die, or thrown to the ground and a knee is on their neck, the video is never enough proof. We're told the video wasn't showing everything that happened. There were things done prior to the video taping that was not shone, or even on a police dash cam, there were blips here and there because something was wrong with the dash cam flickering. I'm tired of all the BS when it comes to a minority being mistreated. It's right there on video. If I were black I'd be stone cold afraid to get pulled over by a white cop. The days of all the hate going on between races is supposed to be over. It's not. It's sad, and I hate it. One of my grandkids is adopted black girl. She was adopted as soon as she was born. I have never seen color. She's my grandkid and I love her as much as the others. She doesn't know she's black. She's a baby. A lot of places we go, we get the " look". They get the " look" right back until they turn their head. Kids today don't see color. They see friends. Asian, black, Middle East, it doesn't matter to them. It shouldn't matter to anyone. That's my stand.

If it looks like a duck - you know the rest....a large black man entering a convenience market @ 0300 with a baseball bat in his hand, is more than likely not buying bubble gum......To Stereotype is to describe the observable actions of a group of persons based upon physical, mental or regional characteristics....it's not a bad word. As an example - a Hillary supporter will support abortion at any time, want more government control on housing, education, taxation at horrendous levels for anyone adjudged 'rich'.....and completely free university education to all.....that is a stereotype that describes tens of thousands of Hillary supports - that and that the men a generally wimps and the women unattractive.
