Is anyone surprised by the Wounded Warrior funds not being used for what they were originally intended?

After watching the news channel, I was appalled to find out that a majority of the money being donated to the Wounded Warrior project was being used to cater events and provide a good life for those associated with the project.

I really don't think their ceo is over compensated at all when compared to the average salary of a ceo in a small to medium size company. A greater argument can be made that he is actually underpaid. I cannot defend the other points though regarding what % goes to charity and so forth.
